Blondie
Return

Blondie are recording a new album in a New York studio for an autumn release. The band got together last year to write material for a Best Of album on EMI America, but the project fell through when the label went belly-up. At that point Blondie had demoed three songs at the Hit Factory, New York, including Studio 54 and Pop Trash Movie, co-written with Nick Rhodes and Warren Cuccurullo from Duran Duran. They decided to continue with producer Craig Leon, who worked on their ’70s self-titled debut and will now release the album, No Exit, on America’s Beyond Music. According to singer Debbie Harry, “Bands seem to be all in cycles. You work together for a certain period of time. You break up for a certain period of time. Then you have a reunion. Look at what the Sex Pistols did.” The line-up consists of Debbie Harry, Chris Stein, Clem Burke and Jimmy Destri.
