Debbie Harry Dolls

Written info by “the doll guy” – maker of the Custom Debbie Harry Dolls

Custom Doll of Debbie Harry past and present lead singer of the legendary group Blondie. Over the last eight years, less than 5 dozen of these dolls have been made by a dedicated fan. Most of them are owned by members of the group or by extreme fans. Debbie has three, Chris Stein has two, as do Jimmy Destri and Clem Burke. Jimmy Destri can be seen displaying a black dress version in the “Beneath The Bleach” video taken on the No Exit Tour. One also appears in the Kathay Che biography of Debbie Harry. Prior to their reunion, Chris Stein requested and received half a dozen.
The first dolls had a small box – only made 3 or 4 – then made a better box style which included the old band lineup (included Frank Infante and Nigel Harrison). I then made a second style large box with just Debbie and then made another Blondie Band box with just the present lineup.
The first half a dozen dolls were all different in terms of outfits. I then settled on the black dress version and the Vultures version as the main styles. I did make a couple dressed in the blue skirt made into a jumpsuit as she appeared in the eat to the beat video. Also, a couple of other styles, but you now have the same ones that Debbie and Chris have. I did give Debbie a one of a kind brunette version when my daughter and I met her at a Jazz Passenger Show. Had serveral e-mails asking if I had any more dolls. I usually try to do a half-dozen heads at a time, but it takes forever.
