She is an astonishing 73 years old.
But Debbie Harry showed no signs of slowing as Blondie put on an electrifying show on night one of KAABOO Del Mar in San Diego on Friday.
Rocking an electric pink ensemble, the stunning septuagenarian showed the kids how it’s done as she ploughed through their greatest hits, including Atomic, Call Me, One Way Or Another, Heart Of Glass and Maria.
The singer commanded her much younger band and the crowd to boot, lighting up the Trestles stage as she segued seamlessly from Tide Is High into Deee Lite’s Groove Is In The Heart and back again.
Highlight of the set was the epic Rapture – the first ever rap song to top the charts, the one her bill-sharing whippersnapper rappers owe their allegiance – missing not a single beat.
‘That was harder than I thought… I’m sweating my ass off up here!’ She joked afterwards.
Teasing the fans, she offered one the opportunity to come up and help her sing before threatening: ‘you come up here and I’ll kick your ass.’
Another artist trolling the crowd was Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, who called on fans to help him channel all their love and peace by helping him sing a song.
‘You know the words!’ He encouraged, as his piano player began John Lennon’s imagine… and Grohl sang the heartfelt lyrics of Van Galen’ Jump instead.
There was plenty of fashion statements elsewhere on Friday; Halsey put on sexy show on the Sunset Cliffs stage, showcasing her abs in a plaid crop top; while Post Malone honored his fellow rapper with a shirt that read: ‘RIP Mac Miller.’
KAABOO’s epic line-up continues on Saturday night with Imagine Dragons, NERD, Billy Idol and Earth, Wind & Fire; while TLC, Wiz Khalifa, Slash, Alice In Chains, Robert Plant and Katy Perry close out on Sunday.
