Blondie are back with their first album in 10 years, and it will carry the last recording made by their drummer Clem Burke.

The record, called High Noon, is due out in February 2027 and will be the band’s 12th studio album.

Burke died in April 2025 at the age of 70 after a cancer diagnosis.

During his time with the group, he played on classic tracks including “Call Me”, “Heart Of Glass” and “One Way Or Another”.

Following his death, Blondie released a statement saying: “Clem was not just a drummer; he was the heartbeat of Blondie. His talent, energy, and passion for music were unmatched, and his contributions to our sound and success are immeasurable.”

The band scored six UK number one singles and two UK number one albums.

The new album will feature contributions from Johnny Marr, Glen Matlock, Zach Condon of Beirut, Jess Wolfe, and Holly Laessig of Lucius.

Recording sessions for High Noon began in 2022 in New York City.

The band worked on the record with producer John Congleton, who previously worked with Blondie on their critically acclaimed 2017 album Pollinator, the group’s last record to date.

The group, fronted by singer Debbie Harry, has also released the first single from the album, “Spectral Eyes”, which is out now.

Marr wrote the single and contributed guitar to it.

Harry said: “This album is classic Blondie – an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new.

“This music feels grounded in the present, shaped by who we are and how we’re living now.”

The band’s guitarist Chris Stein added: “It’s been a long, strange ride, and somehow here we are with another Blondie album.

“I’m not sure what the f*** I’m supposed to say at this point, except that we’re incredibly grateful for all your support over the years.”

Blondie was formed in NYC in 1974 and was a pioneer of the new wave genre.

The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 and has sold more than 40 million records worldwide.

High Noon will be released on 26 February 2027.
